Principal Cloud Engineer

We are looking for a principal engineer to lead customer projects and level-up our engineering practices. The TL;DR of CloudPhilos:

The TL;DR of you:

• You're relentlessly curious.
• You can't let go of problems until you solve them.
• You're self sufficient.
• You try multiple things before asking for help.
• You question everything and reason from first principles.
• You have strong computer science fundamentals. You at least know the basics of the following: databases, operating systems (linux), datastructures and algorithms, networks.
• You can hack things together in a programming language of choice.

The TL;DR of your experience:

• Besides passwords and API keys, Kubernetes has no secrets for you.
• You have experience setting up very reliable systems (99.99%+ uptime).
• You have a software engineering background or at least know how to code well.
• You have done performance optimizations before. Both at application as well as infrastructure level.
• (bonus) You have experience in application security.

What you will be doing:

• Be a mentor for more junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot complex performance issues.
• Take the lead in defining our reliability practice.
• Build tools that make analysing cloud environments easy for more junior engineers.
• Write terraform modules, helm charts, and SOPs that can be used across customers.
